1. What cookies and browser storage do
Cookies are small pieces of information saved by your browser. Similar browser storage can remember choices during a visit. Some storage supports website functions; optional analytics helps FES understand which pages are useful and improve the website.
Optional analytics is enabled by default. You can turn it off by choosing essential cookies only and still request counselling, read information, and contact FES.
2. How we use website storage
Essential and functional storage supports sign-in, security, cookie preferences, and basic website choices such as remembering a dismissed notice.
Optional analytics uses Google Analytics and a visitor identifier to help us understand website use. It is enabled by default and can be turned off in Cookie Preferences. Advertising permissions remain off.
Your saved preference lasts up to 180 days in this browser. Other storage durations depend on its purpose, service configuration, and browser settings.
3. Optional Google Analytics
When enabled, Google Analytics receives website usage and technical information to help FES understand traffic and improve pages. Our page-view tracking omits URL query strings and fragments so chat prompts and search parameters are not deliberately included in those page-view fields. Do not put personal or sensitive information into URLs.
Our analytics integration keeps advertising permissions off. It does not send your consultation form submissions to Google as analytics events. Read how Google uses information from sites that use its services.
4. Make or change your choice
Choose “Allow all” in the cookie notice to allow optional analytics (advertising remains off). To choose “Accept essential only”, first uncheck optional analytics. In Cookie Preferences, you can also uncheck optional analytics and save. These choices do not require a counselling request. Your choice takes effect immediately without waiting for a server response. When browser storage is available, it is remembered for up to 180 days; after it expires, the default applies unless you save a new choice. If storage is blocked, the choice applies only to the current visit and may need to be selected again after reloading.
If you turn analytics off, future analytics is disabled and this website attempts to remove its analytics cookies and optional visitor cookie. This does not recall data already processed by Google. It also does not delete your consultation enquiry or prevent a counsellor from responding to a request you already made.
You can also delete or block cookies in your browser settings. Blocking all cookies may affect sign-in or prevent your preference from being remembered. Each browser and device has its own settings.
5. External services and contact
Following a link to WhatsApp, ICEF, a university, or another external service takes you to that service’s own privacy and cookie arrangements. The FES preference controls apply to our optional website analytics; they do not control storage on another website or replace the processing needed for an AI chat request you choose to submit.
